Theory & Philosophy Of Design
Primarily focused on the Theory and Philosophy of Design, research to date has focused on expanding the potential of SETU’s collaboration with local communities and exploring possibilities for establishing new research ground. An appreciation and understanding of the historic buildings is also explored as the challenges of adapting historic structure for contemporary use becomes more relevant within society. This theme is advanced in Ireland via membership of the All-Ireland Architecture Research Group (a-iarg).
A key funding target for this group will also be the EU New European Bauhaus that is a creative and interdisciplinary initiative connecting the European Green Deal to living spaces and experiences with the overall objectives of ‘beautiful, sustainable, together’.
