SETU Architecture Students Invited to Present Projects in Monaco

Three final-year students from the Bachelor of Architecture programme at South East Technological University (SETU) were invited recently to present their architectural design projects at St Patrick’s Day events in Monaco.

Students Conor Nolan, Fiona O’Connor and Shannon Kenny presented their final-year design proposals to HSH Prince Albert of Monaco during the celebrations on 17 March.

The projects explore architectural proposals for the Kelly Family homestead in County Mayo, examining how contemporary architectural design can engage with historical landscapes and cultural heritage.

The invitation recognises the quality of work produced within the SETU architecture programme and provides students with a rare opportunity to present their work to an international audience.

The students will be introduced to HSH Prince Albert by SETU lecturer Garry Miley, who has been closely involved in supporting their work. It was also attended by Marian Harkin TD, Minister of State for Further Education, Apprenticeship, Construction and Climate Skills and by the Irish Ambassador to France, Niall Burgess, as well as the founder of EasyJet, Stelios Haji‑Ioannou.
