Members of the SABRE Research Centre, John Wall, Ann Fripps and Emily Shakespeare, recently travelled to Bucharest, Romania, to participate in a project meeting of the Erasmus+ DREAMER (Development and Reconstruction Empowerment through Advanced Project Management Education and Research) project. Hosted by the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, the meeting brought together partners from across Europe to continue the collaborative development of innovative project management education materials and to review progress across the project work packages.
The visit was organised by colleagues Cristian Tarba, Manuela Dijmarescu and Cornel Enciu, who welcomed project partners to the university for a series of workshops, discussions and project management meetings. A key element of the programme was the continued development of DREAMER’s teaching and learning resources, which aim to strengthen project management education through the integration of digital, green and sustainable skills, while supporting future reconstruction and development initiatives in Ukraine.
Participants also received an overview of the CAMPUS Research Institute from Professor Grigore Cican, providing valuable insights into the university’s research infrastructure, innovation activities and links between academia, industry and society.
DREAMER is a three-year Erasmus+ initiative involving partners from Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Croatia and Ukraine. The project seeks to enhance project management education and research through challenge-based learning, international collaboration and the development of accessible educational resources for students, educators and practitioners. The project also supports wider European priorities relating to sustainability, digital transformation and capacity building.
In addition to the formal project activities, partners had the opportunity to experience some of Romania’s rich cultural heritage through a visit to Bran Castle. The visit provided an informal setting for further discussion and networking, helping to strengthen the collaborative relationships that underpin the success of the DREAMER consortium.
