Cúpla Trá: Explore Tramore’s Back Strand through an Interactive Digital Twin

SETU’s SABRE Research Centre invites you to experience Cúpla Trá, an interactive digital twin of Tramore’s Back Strand and sand dunes, at the Kokoro Heritage Centre in the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens.

Funded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Cúpla Trá brings together landscape biography, ecology and digital technology to explore this distinctive coastal landscape.

Visitors can try the model, discover the area’s unique flora and fauna, and explore how the landscape is changing. Interactive demonstrations will highlight the pressures posed by coastal erosion, rising sea levels and human activity, offering an opportunity to consider the future of this valued coastal environment.

The research team will be on hand to demonstrate the model, discuss the project and answer questions.

Dates: Thursday 12 and Friday 13 November 2026
Time: 10am–4pm Thurs, 10am–2pm Fri
Venue: Kokoro Heritage Centre, Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens, Pond Road, Tramore, Co. Waterford
